David A. Brown, D.M.D.
Dr. David Brown earned his bachelor’s degree in 1978, and four years later, his D.M.D. from the University of Florida. He began his practice with his classmate, Dr. Jim Chmielarski with whom he practiced until Dr. Chmielarski’s death in 2012. He is currently practicing with Dr. Andrew Nawrocki, a prosthodontist, also a graduate of the University of Florida.
Dr. Brown was awarded mentor status in 1999 from Dr. John Kois at his educational training center, Creating Restorative Excellence in Seattle, WA and was further awarded the title of Mentor and Clinical Instructor at the newly developed Kois Center in July 2004. At the Kois Center, Dr. Brown also served on the Advisory Board and is one of a select group of dentists who mentors other dentists, from the US, Canada, Europe, Asia and other parts of the world that are taking continuing educational classes at this state-of-the art dental training center. There, he helps to provide a rich environment for advancing the use of implants, periodontics, restorative and esthetic dentistry. The Kois Center is a leading dental training program serving dentists from around the world.
In practice for over 38 years, Dr. Brown stays abreast of the latest advances in dentistry with memberships in the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Central District Dental Association where he served as an officer, Volusia County Dental Association where he is Past President and has served on the Executive Committee, Halifax Implant Study Club, Tomoka Seminars (Seattle Study Club) as the Restorative Dental Consultant and the Creating Restorative Excellence Mentor Group. Dr. Brown has served as an advisor to the Daytona State College Dental Hygiene and Dental Assistant Educational Programs.
Dr. Brown has been married for over 46 years and has three children. He remains active in his church and para-church ministries, as well as dental organizations. He has completed mission work with the United Methodist Volunteers in Mission and donated his time to the Volusia County Millennium Woman Foundation, American Cancer Society, Red Cross, M/S Walk, Hospice, Migrant Workers Association and God’s Little Angels. When he’s away from the office, Dr. Brown enjoys photography, music, traveling and especially woodworking.
Andrew M. Nawrocki, D.M.D., M.S.
Dr. Andrew Nawrocki earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida in 2004. He continued his studies at the University of Florida College of Dentistry receiving his Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2008. Dr. Nawrocki’s residency in general dentistry was completed at the Bay Pines VAMC resulting in receiving a certificate for Advanced Education in General Dentistry. He returned to the University from 2009-2012 where he earned a Specialist Certificate in Prosthodontics as well as a Master’s degree in Dental Science. In 2010, he was awarded Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantology.
Dr. Nawrocki is a member of the American Dental Association, American College of Prosthodontists, Florida College of Prosthodontists and the International Congress of Oral Implantology. He remains an active part of the College of Dentistry in Gainesville teaching and consulting with other dentists.
A Florida native, Dr. Nawrocki was born in Ocala but grew up in Cocoa Beach, where his
father is a practicing dentist. He has an identical twin brother who is a prosthodontist in Jacksonville. Dr. Nawrocki was recently married in October 2015 to his wife, Lauren. He also enjoys playing tennis, golf, working out and traveling. He has been a participant in The March of Dimes, WeCare, Give Kids a Smile, Alachua County Organization for Rural Needs, Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens, Junior League of Daytona Beach, Council on Aging, Inc., as well as raising money for breast cancer awareness and research.
