State-of-the-Art Dental Technology for Cutting Edge Care

July 23, 2017

Have you ever dropped your smart phone and had to use an old one while it was repaired or worse until it was time for you to get a new phone? If so, you likely remember how out of date the systems seemed. Suddenly everything takes too long and none of your apps work correctly. Now, imagine if you’d had to give up your smart phone for whatever cell phone you were using ten years ago. Unfortunately, many dentists are still using outdated technologies that don’t provide the best service. Other dental offices invest in all the latest tech, but that cost is tacked onto the price of your dental care. At Brown & Nawrocki Restorative & Cosmetic Dentistry, we’ve found a happy medium. We work with the best dental technology that evolves as innovations in the field occur. That means, we have the necessary equipment to ensure patients receive treatments that exceed their highest expectations, and we offer high quality dentistry services at an affordable price. Keep reading to find out more, or contact our Ormond Beach dental office. We’ll be happy to take you on an office tour and explain all of our innovative dentistry techniques and technologies.

Early Disease Diagnosis

The Oral Cancer Foundation recently stated that early diagnosis was the best way to decrease annual deaths related to this deadly disease. In addition to visually and manually checking for lumps, bumps, and other early warning signs of oral cancer, we use the VELscope Vx oral cancer screening device. This allows us to more accurately diagnose oral cancer in earlier stages than is possible with traditional screenings.

Preventive Screenings

Intraoral photos and digital x-rays captured in our office give the dentist and patient a clear picture of the inner and outer structures of teeth. In addition to viewing crystal-clear, high-definition images that can be enhanced on our chairside computer monitors, we can also compare these images between appointments for earlier and more accurate diagnosis.

Advanced Treatment Planning

In order to safely and effectively provide advanced dental care like surgical implant placement, we need to use the latest dental technologies. That’s why we use the Planmeca ProMax 3D CBCT scanner to plan for dental implant tooth replacement. Unlike traditional and digital x-rays that only capture one part of the smile at a time in 2D, our CBCT scanner gives a complete picture of how every part of the teeth, jaw, and other oral and facial structures are working together. When it comes to planning dental implant placement, these 3D images ensure we safely place the supportive post in the ideal position. This means increased precision and improved success rates.
